Choosing Sound Equipment for a Night Club
When opening a night club, you need to remember that choosing sound equipment is one of the most important stages of building a club. We will tell you what you need to launch a club with good sound.
At the same time, it is desirable to have all the dimensions of the room where the disco and concerts of musical groups will take place. The dimensions of the hall are needed to build a 3D model in a special program, with the help of which a specialist will be able to select the necessary materials (wall and ceiling decoration) to optimize the reverberation time. According to the calculation result, the acoustic properties of the room should be improved, only after this it is necessary to follow all the recommendations for finishing the room and install sound-absorbing materials recommended by a specialist.
After calculating the sound absorption of the hall, we proceed to the selection of acoustic systems. For this, we also use special software for calculating the acoustics of the room. In the model that was created for calculating sound absorption, we insert acoustic systems and achieve uniformity of the sound field in the area of the spectators. To do this, you may have to select and calculate the sound field using various acoustic system simulators, selecting and achieving the best result of uniformity and pressure of the sound field. When the result meets the requirement, we select sound power amplifiers for the selected loudspeakers according to the parameters of the selected acoustic systems. At the moment, technologies in the field of audio equipment are advancing with time, there are analog and digital devices on the show equipment market. So there are sound power amplifiers of different classes, including analog and digital, the latter can be with remote control, the sound engineer servicing the institution in which digital amplifiers are installed will be able to connect to them using a computer to change the operating status and monitor the amplifiers. Continuing the chain of the sound amplification path, we connect the amplifiers to the sound processor, which divides the sound signal into several frequency bands - high, medium, low, and also distributes the sound signal to the acoustic systems that are installed at different points in the hall. The signal to the sound processor comes from a concert mixing console or a DJ console, switching between them can also be programmed in the processor.
A concert mixing console is selected based on the requirements of sound engineers of musical groups, sound equipment specialists know which mixing consoles are preferable for sound engineers or, in other words, rider mixing consoles.
If the choice of a mixing console stopped at a digital one, then additional sound and vocal processing does not need to be installed, since such consoles have all the necessary functions for processing sound and vocals. There are also analog mixing consoles with decent processing. When installing a conventional analog console for concerts, you still need to install additional vocal and sound signal processing, which will be located next to the mixing console for the convenience of the sound engineer. For each object, a mixing console is selected individually, it depends on the composition of the musicians of the groups that will perform in this institution. For example, for small halls, where the stage is small, the art director will not invite a musical group with their orchestra to perform, respectively, the sound console can have up to 36 input channels. And if the concert venue has the ability to hold concerts of groups with a large number of participants, then a sound mixer with a large number of input audio channels will be needed. When forming a list of sound equipment, do not forget about the microphone park. The microphone park should include vocal, instrumental wired microphones, radio systems with a hand-held transmitter, as well as with a belt transmitter for connecting head and lapel microphones.
It seems like everything, but there is no connection between the sound equipment yet, this will be decided by switching. To connect different types of audio equipment, there are different types of switching, it is divided into the same segments:
Acoustic for connecting acoustic systems
Signal for sound processing, sound sources and for connecting an amplifier to a mixing console
Instrumental for connecting musical instruments and microphones

But now all this web of wires can be replaced by digital technologies that do not lose the quality of the audio signal. Continuing with the switching section, we move on to the next section - installation of audio equipment and setup. The two sections are closely related because when choosing the type and length of the cable, the audio equipment designer must imagine how the main audio switching routes will go. This can be agreed with other room engineers for ease of installation.
Installation of acoustic systems is carried out in accordance with the calculation that was made earlier, observing the coordinates of the suspension or installation points, as well as the angles of inclination and direction of the speakers. The acoustic cable is pulled until the end of finishing work. Installation work also includes the connection of all components of the audio path. Of course, problems arise during installation that must be resolved promptly by engineers and installers.
Everything seems to be hanging and connected, but there is no sound! This is corrected by the audio equipment tuner. Sound equipment is not so easy to start up, for example, to start up a digital mixing console, precise tuning by a professional engineer who knows how to set it up is required. Next, the sound signal is adjusted, optimizing the frequencies for the room for excellent sound.
