Electro-Voice Zx5

ZX5 is the result of twenty years of experiments by Electro-Voice engineers in developing high-quality, powerful, lightweight, compact loudspeakers.
The latest technological solutions combined with many years of experience in the production and operation of loudspeakers with polypropylene housings formed the basis for the concept of developing a new series of loudspeakers - Electro-Voice ZX.
At the start of serial production, two models were released: ZX5-60 with a horn opening angle of 60 ° x 60 ° and ZX5-90 with a horn opening angle of 90 ° x 50 °, as well as all-weather versions ZX5-60PI, ZX5-90PI.
After researching the market and customer needs, a new model of an acoustic system with a built-in 2000 W amplifier was developed.
ZX5 is a broadband direct-radiation acoustic system with a linear frequency response and increased output.
The design of the ZX5 uses exclusively new components.
Patented ergonomic case with improved acoustic parameters and great operational capabilities. High-power fifteen-inch woofer allows you to get deep, voluminous clear bass. Two-inch compression neodymium driver, providing excellent articulation and crystal clear sound in the high-frequency range. Built-in passive crossover with the most linear amplitude-frequency characteristic in the frequency section area. With small dimensions of the case, the ZX5 acoustic system has an RMS power of 600 W and a maximum sound pressure level of 133 dB!
The use of a new fifteen-inch woofer in combination with the above and some other technological and design innovations allows you to use the ZX5 as an independent full-range mobile acoustics, without using an additional subwoofer. The models' enclosures are made of pressed shockproof polypropylene, equipped with threaded bushings (10xM8) for wall mounting and suspension, and an adapter for mounting on a tripod. Removable transport handles provide additional options for wall mounting and suspension. The front panels are protected by a perforated powder-coated metal grille and mounted on an acoustically transparent base made of porous material. The protective grilles of the all-weather loudspeakers are made of stainless steel. Models with the PI index are supplied with an input panel that provides a waterproof cable connection.
The internal volume of the enclosure is damped with sound-absorbing porous material, preventing the occurrence of unwanted acoustic resonances.
The loudspeakers have an asymmetrical shape, which allows them to be used as a stage monitor, and the retractable locking legs allow you to adjust the tilt angle within 45°-55°. ZX5 are available in black and white (all-weather version PI - in black)
Scope: compact mobile acoustic systems, installations (including open spaces - all-weather versions ZX5-60PI, ZX5-90PI), "live sound", sound reinforcement of concert venues, theaters, discos, restaurants, shopping centers, sports grounds, skating rinks, stadiums, railway stations, airports, conferences and presentations.
ZX5 acoustic systems were demonstrated in April at the exhibition "Musikmesse - 2004" in Frankfurt. According to experts and visitors to the exhibition, the sound of ZX5, despite its small dimensions, is powerful, bright, smooth and comfortable, maximally reliably conveying the sound of vocals and acoustic musical instruments.
