History.
In September 1927, Lou Burroughs and Al Kahn organized a radio service business in the state of Indiana (South Bend). Commercial activity was successful and soon they had the most popular service center in the city. However, the economic depression reduced their efforts to nothing, and in order to pay off creditors, the businessmen decided to go into audio equipment. Thus, on June 1, 1930, the Electro-Voice company was registered. Burroughs and Kahn considered the production of microphones to be a promising direction - the models of that time were expensive and of poor quality. They acquired the necessary equipment and began producing microphones - one per week. Soon after, Burrafs left the business, leaving the company to Kanu. By 1933, the debts were fully repaid. Now, without debt, Electro-Voice could hire specialists. And in 1936, 20 people were working here, and Burrafs returned as chief engineer. Thus, Electro-Voice entered the sound equipment market. In 1946, the company moved to larger premises and began engineering research in the field of sound. In 1948, it successfully organized the production of phonograph pick-up cartridges. In 1950, the production of the first automatic TV booster began, which became popular. A line for the production of loudspeakers was also launched.
Today, Electro-Voice is part of Bosch Communications Systems, and is part of an association of brands aimed at providing comprehensive sound solutions and security systems from a single manufacturer. Products such as NetMax and IRIS-Net provide exceptional flexibility and centralized control over various systems (audio, video, security alarm systems, life support systems and others).
